A 28-year-old Boca Raton woman is charged with DUI and refusing to submit to testing, both misdemeanors, after a traffic stop in Delray Beach shortly after 2 a.m. on Oct. 30, according to an arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.
The report identifies the driver as Jordan Marie Lynch, a veterinary technician. Police said she told an officer she had “two tequilas” on Atlantic Avenue before getting behind the wheel of a black Mazda CX-5.
An officer conducting traffic enforcement near West Palmetto Park Road said the SUV ran a red light at the intersection with Northwest Second Avenue and stopped inside the crosswalk area. After the light changed, the officer said, the car swerved out of its lane several times before he pulled it over at 2000 NW 2nd Ave.
The officer wrote that Lynch smelled strongly of alcohol, had bloodshot, watery eyes and slurred speech, and seemed confused. Police said she swayed when she got out of the car and refused roadside sobriety exercises twice.
Officers took her to the Boca Raton Police Department, where she refused a breath test. She refused again after hearing Florida’s implied consent warning, the report states.
Lynch is scheduled to appear at the South County Courthouse in Delray Beach on Nov. 30 at 8:30 a.m. The charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent unless a court finds otherwise.
