The City of Boca Raton is adding three school zones to its School Zone Safety Program beginning November 9, 2026. The new zones serve Calusa Elementary School, Blue Lake Elementary School and Omni Middle School/Spanish River High School, bringing the city’s total to six.
The city works with RedSpeed on the speed cameras. They record violations only when the flashing school zone lights are on. At Calusa Elementary, at 2051 Clint Moore Road, that means 7:05 to 8:05 a.m. and 2 to 2:35 p.m. Blue Lake Elementary’s zone, at Military Trail and Potomac Road, is active 7:20 to 8:05 a.m. and 2 to 2:35 p.m. The Omni and Spanish River zone, at Jog Road and Yamato Road, runs 7 to 9:35 a.m. and 2:45 to 4:35 p.m.
Each new zone starts with a 30-day warning period once its cameras are activated. After that, drivers going 11 mph or more over the posted limit while lights are flashing face a $100 civil penalty. The city said the citations do not add points to a driver’s license or affect auto insurance rates.
The program already operates in the Addison Mizner School, Boca Raton Community High School and J.C. Mitchell Elementary School zones. Residents can find more details at myboca.us/SchoolZoneSafety.
For parents and drivers on Clint Moore, Military Trail, Jog Road and Yamato Road, the schedules are the key detail, since the cameras only enforce during those flashing-light windows.
