Two animals at Broward County Animal Care are hoping to find new homes before the holidays. One is a dog who has been at the shelter for nearly three months, and the other is a cat who arrived in October after her owner was hospitalized.

Wylder, a 4-year-old Boxer mix weighing 60 pounds, was found as a stray in early August. Shelter staff describe him as gentle, friendly and affectionate. He likes to play and explore, but he is just as happy curling up with his favorite people. He is neutered, and his animal identification number is A2479444.

Bianca, a 1-year-old domestic shorthair weighing 9 pounds, is a sweet and sociable cat who enjoys attention, toys and treats. She likes to communicate with people and welcomes being petted. Staff say she could fit well in many kinds of households. She is spayed, and her animal identification number is A2481482.

Both pets are available at the shelter, 2400 SW 42nd St. in Fort Lauderdale. It is open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. All adopted pets are spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Adopters pay $25 for the required Broward County registration tag. More information is available at Broward.org/Animal.
