The City of Boca Raton is holding its annual Veterans Day celebration, Red, White & Boca, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mizner Park Amphitheater, 590 Plaza Real. The event is free and open to veterans, their families and the public.
Live music and speakers are on the main program. The Presentation of Colors and the National Anthem are scheduled for 4:45 p.m., and The Coastman Chorus performs at 5:10 p.m. Organizers say the event is meant to recognize people who have served.
A Veterans Marketplace will feature local service organizations and veteran-owned small businesses. A classic car show on the east lawn will give out awards for best of show and best veteran-owned vehicle, with winners announced at 6:50 p.m. Food vendors also open to the public at 4 p.m.
Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable food for Boca Helping Hands, which collects donations for local families facing food insecurity. Each guest may bring one unopened bottle of water.
The city also noted that Boca Raton is recognized as a Purple Heart City, a designation honoring veterans awarded the Purple Heart for bravery and valor.
