Palm Tran is offering free rides to voters on Election Day to help people reach polling locations, the transit agency said.

Riders can get a free trip by telling the bus driver they are headed to a polling location. Voters who show their “I Voted” sticker also qualify, the company said.

The offer covers Palm Tran’s fixed-route buses, Palm Tran Connection and Go Glades services. Go Glades serves the western part of Palm Beach County, while Palm Tran Connection provides door-to-door rides for riders with disabilities.

For voters without a car, the program removes a cost that can make a trip to the polls harder, especially on a day when many people are working or juggling child care.
