The second annual Moonlight Open returns to Miami on Friday with some of the world’s top padel players competing to raise money for cancer research. The tournament is set for Reserve Miami Seaplane on Watson Island Park. Doors open at 4 p.m., and play begins at 4:30 p.m.

The event was inspired by Charlie Moon, a South Florida man who has beaten cancer five times. Moon is scheduled to return to the court this year, according to the source report.

Last year’s inaugural tournament raised nearly $1 million in just 12 days. Proceeds from ticket sales will again benefit cancer research at the University of Miami’s Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Organizers hope the second year will build on that momentum.

Tickets and more information are available through the tournament’s website.
