Strong storms and heavy rain are expected across South Florida on Sunday, according to the CBS News Miami NEXT Weather Team. Easterly winds will keep showers moving through the region all day, with storms growing more frequent and intense in the afternoon and evening.

Forecasters expect flash flood advisories and warnings at times, especially along the Broward and Miami-Dade county line. Rain totals of 2 to 3 inches are likely, and some localized spots could see up to 5 inches.

Broward County and northern Miami-Dade are under a Level 2 flash flood threat. Fans heading to Hard Rock Stadium for the Dolphins game should expect several rounds of storms before, during and after kickoff.

Rain chances rise again Monday, then ease Tuesday, which is Election Day. Forecast models show scattered storms and rain possible during voting hours, and forecasters expect drier conditions by next weekend.
