The City of Boynton Beach held its annual Pirate Fest on Halloween weekend, October 31 and November 1, along East Ocean Avenue at Centennial Park and Amphitheatre. Admission was free.

Many visitors wore pirate costumes as they walked past exhibits, rides and food vendors. Live entertainment played at the amphitheater. The weather held on Saturday but turned rainy on Sunday.

Food options included chicken legs, homemade lemonade, empanadas and shish kebabs. Activities included a haunted trail, a kids’ area, face painting, and games such as axe throwing, sword fighting and archery.

The festival began in 2012 to draw residents and tourists to the city. It now includes a Mermaid Splash with interactive mermaids and aquatic-themed entertainment alongside the pirate activities. Details are available on the city’s website, boynton-beach.org.
