A West Palm Beach entrepreneur has turned a weekend market stand into a full-time business. Kimberly Truong runs Ba Cafe, a mobile coffee company specializing in Vietnamese coffee, at the West Palm Beach GreenMarket. WPTV reporter Christy Waite visited the stand for the station’s Small Business Saturday coverage.

Truong, who was born and raised in West Palm Beach, named the business after her late father. She said she wants to introduce customers to Vietnamese culture, which she described as underrepresented in the area.

Her coffee is brewed with 100% Robusta beans imported from Vietnam. Truong said Robusta contains about double the caffeine of arabica, the variety most commonly sold in the United States. The drink is traditionally served over ice.

Her GreenMarket menu includes several varieties, with the classic Vietnamese coffee and salt coffee among the most popular. Truong said she returned to the market this year, but now as a full-time vendor. She said she enjoys interacting with customers, especially at a market recently voted the top market in the country.
