The We the People Coalition will hold a free, nonpartisan rally at Las Olas Oceanside Park in Fort Lauderdale on Monday, Nov. 2, the night before the Nov. 3 general election. The event, called “Vote for Freedom,” is meant to push residents to cast ballots.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with live music starting at 6 p.m. and the program beginning at 6:30 p.m. The park is at 3000 E. Las Olas Boulevard.

More than 70 South Florida organizations are taking part. Speakers include Broward Teachers Union President Anna Fusco, state Rep. Ashley Gantt of District 109, former U.S. Assistant Secretary of Labor José Javier Rodríguez, U.S. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Transinclusive Group Executive Director Tatiana Williams. The Deep-Fried Funk Band will perform.

Organizers said the speakers will focus on how elected leaders affect health care costs, education, economic opportunity, civil rights, LGBTQ+ equality and social justice. The coalition said it does not endorse candidates.

Free registration is available online through a link on the coalition’s event page, and the organizers’ social media handle is @wtpmarch.
