Cup Series playoff driver Christopher Bell says he hopes to add another highlight to his career when NASCAR’s Championship Weekend returns to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the first time since 2019. The three national series will race in South Florida Nov. 6-8 to crown their 2026 champions.
Bell stopped by Local 10 Studios with the championship trophy and spoke with sports reporter Kacy Hintz. He has three top-10 finishes at Homestead and won the 2023 4EVER 400 during the playoffs. He also won the NASCAR Truck Series championship in 2017, which gives the track added meaning for him.
“It’s such a fun racetrack, and with it being the closing race of the year again, it makes it so important,” Bell said. “I can’t wait to make more memories down there and hopefully be taking that thing home.”
Before the finale, the championship picture will be shaped by the playoff race at Martinsville Speedway. Bell said several drivers are separated by only a few points in the battle for second place, with second through sixth “all right there in a wad of cars.”
He also said his team needs to pressure the No. 5 team before the series arrives in South Florida, so that its rival does not reach the finale already celebrating.
