Police arrested a man accused of breaking into cars in Hollywood after he crashed into a police cruiser while trying to get away, according to officers.
Officers said they were called around 5 a.m. Tuesday about someone breaking into vehicles along South Young Circle. When officers arrived, the suspect ran and struck a police cruiser during the getaway.
Officers later tracked him down hiding in a shed nearby. Police have not released his name. No injuries were reported in the crash or the arrest.
The incident is a reminder for residents to lock their vehicles and keep valuables out of sight, especially overnight in neighborhoods where car break-ins have been reported.
