The girls’ flag football team at Seminole Ridge High School is aiming for a third straight state championship. Over the past two years, the team has gone 37-4 and won the last two state titles, according to the report.

Head coach Scott O’Hara said he finds joy in working with players who are eager to compete and enjoy the sport. He described the squad as sure-handed and disciplined, and said the players have fun while they work.

Team captain Samantha Musgrave said the group keeps a balance between seriousness and humor. She said the players are taking the chase for a third title one day at a time and expect to win games next season because the team puts in extra work.

Musgrave’s teammate Chachi Saunders is a standout on the field. She led the team in most statistical categories last season, recorded 17 interceptions and earned First Team All-Defensive honors. She also made game-winning catches in the championship.

Saunders is the first flag football player in Palm Beach County to commit to a Division I school for the sport. She said she never expected that milestone and credited her coaches and teammates for their support.
