Boca Raton police arrested a Fort Lauderdale attorney on multiple felony charges after an ex-girlfriend said he entered her apartment without permission and repeatedly contacted her following their breakup.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Andrew Joseph Inserra, 41, was charged with burglary of a structure, aggravated stalking and falsely impersonating a police officer. Police said the investigation started when the victim reported receiving a photo of her apartment bathroom from Inserra on June 2, 2026, one day after the couple ended their relationship. She told officers she had not invited him inside and believed all entrances were secured. Officers said details in the photo matched the inside of the home.
Investigators later obtained a search warrant for Inserra’s cellphone. The affidavit states that location data on the phone placed the device at the victim’s residence when the images were taken. Police said the photos showed areas both inside and outside the apartment.
Detectives also reviewed text messages and call records. Police said Inserra sent dozens of messages and made numerous calls after the victim told him to stop and said she planned to seek a restraining order. Some messages said he was inside the apartment waiting for her. The affidavit further alleges he posed as a Boca Raton police dispatcher while trying to reach her.
Inserra’s case will move through the Palm Beach County court system. The charges are allegations at this stage, and the affidavit lays out the evidence investigators say supports them.
