Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital has a new interactive play space for its young patients, thanks to a donation from Rick Case Automotive Group.

Rita Case, president and CEO of the automotive group, visited pediatric patients to debut the installation. It fills a hallway with projected images, including butterflies and other scenes, that cover the wall and floor so children can play with them as they walk through.

Case said the technology is meant to bring joy and laughter to patients and their families as they make their way to Hope Terrace, the hospital’s outdoor rehabilitation garden.

Hope Terrace also has an area where children can knock on butterflies to hear the sounds of nature. The projection hallway serves as a route to that garden, giving families a lighter path through a hospital visit.
