The YMCA of South Palm Beach County has received a $22,500 grant from YMCA of the USA through its 2026 Leaders Club Service Enhancement Grant program, the Boca Raton Tribune reported Oct. 21.

The money will pay for two Teen Achievers Summits and one Teen Mental Health Summit in 2027. Teens at the summits will hear from mentors and inspirational speakers, explore social issues and work with peers on service projects.

Bryan Hunt, the YMCA’s senior branch executive director, said the grant gives teens more chances to step up and give back. “We’re excited to see what they accomplish,” he said.

The YMCA aims to engage 27 Leaders Club participants, log more than 4,000 youth volunteer hours and complete seven youth-led community service projects. Fifteen teens will hold defined leadership roles, and the program expects to involve hundreds of community members and volunteers.

The mental health summit is meant to give young people a safe place to talk about mental wellness, build resilience and learn to handle everyday pressures. Families who want more information can visit ymcaspbc.org.
