A stronger breeze has replaced the steamy air that dominated South Florida this October, according to a WSVN 7News weather blog post. Miami reached 86 degrees on Monday, and the wind kept it feeling mild.
Skies were mixed, with bright stretches at times and clouds moving in off the ocean, including over Fort Lauderdale on Monday afternoon. A stalled front lingering over the region separates much drier air to the north from deep moisture to the south, and solid clouds stretch from the Bahamas to the Florida Straits.
The forecast calls for mostly dry conditions through Wednesday, with only scattered showers drifting in off the ocean. Rain chances could tick up Thursday. Forecasters said Saturday and Sunday look unsettled, with strong winds from high pressure to the north, periods of rain and king tides.
Coastal flooding is a concern around high tide cycles, and residents near the water should check tide times and plan accordingly.
