At least two people were unconscious after a critical crash near Atlantic Avenue and the Florida Turnpike in Delray Beach, according to initial information received by BocaNewsNow.com. A Trauma Hawk helicopter was on the way to the scene.
The crash appears to span two locations, both on the Turnpike and on Atlantic Avenue. The site did not provide a time for the crash or details on the cause, and it said it was awaiting official updates.
Drivers should avoid Atlantic Avenue and the Turnpike in the area. Southbound Turnpike drivers were advised to exit well before Atlantic Avenue if they need to reach their destination in the next hour or two.
Commuters in Delray Beach and western Palm Beach County should plan alternate routes until police or the Florida Highway Patrol release more information on road closures and the condition of those involved.
