A new neighborhood market called Wilder is set to open this fall in Midtown Miami at 3250 NE First Ave. The store combines a full-service grocery with a café and prepared foods from the Miami team behind Michelin-starred Los Félix in Coconut Grove and its sister restaurant, Krüs Kitchen.
Shoppers can expect chef-made sandwiches, rotating salads, grass-fed beef, pasture-raised poultry and responsibly sourced seafood. The café will serve coffee, fresh breads, juices and smoothies, and the beverage menu will include natural wines, craft beer and nonalcoholic drinks.
Major Food Group, the company behind Carbone and Sadelle’s, is joining as a founding investor and strategic adviser. The company said Wilder is its first investment outside its own restaurants and its first move into retail grocery. It will also advise on possible expansion beyond Midtown.
Miami entrepreneur Danielle Axman founded Wilder to make it easier to buy high-quality food without reading every label. The market plans to carry about 4,000 products, all chosen under what it calls “The Wilder Standard,” a sourcing framework that looks at farming practices, animal welfare and environmental impact. Suppliers include South Florida’s Paradise Farms and Glaser Organic Farms, along with Georgia’s White Oak Pastures.
The space, designed by Miami-based Love Lake Studio, will have vintage furnishings, plenty of natural light, a patio and an outdoor pickup window. Prices have not been announced yet.
