Palm Beach County sheriff’s deputies arrested an 18-year-old man on two counts of attempted murder after a shooting near Greenacres, the Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday. A cellphone video recorded by one of the victims helped lead to the arrest.

Deputies were called around 6:45 p.m. Sunday to the 6200 block of Plains Drive, in the Atlantic Estates subdivision, according to PBSO spokeswoman Teri Barbera. Responders found a man with a gunshot wound to his left arm. He was taken to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment.

A second victim identified the suspect as Youdnelson Jean, 18, also known as “Fawty,” and said he ran away on foot. Deputies detained Jean at his home a short distance away on Triphammer Road. Detectives said a search warrant at the house turned up the clothing he wore during the shooting and the suspected gun.

Both victims told detectives that Jean argued with them, pulled a black handgun and fired one round. The uninjured victim provided video showing Jean pointing a firearm at the group.

Jean was served with a risk protection order on July 17 that barred him from having guns or ammunition. A charge was added Monday for violating that order. He was already facing an aggravated battery charge with a deadly weapon from July 13, and a judge revoked his bond because of the new case. He is being held without bond, and his next hearing is Nov. 10 at 10:30 a.m.
