Renaissance Charter at University runners compete in Broward cross country meet

Renaissance Charter School at University boys and girls cross country teams ran in the Broward County Championships at Markham Park on Friday.

The boys and girls cross country teams from Renaissance Charter School at University competed in the Broward County Championships on Friday at Markham Park.

Francisco Oquendo led the boys, finishing 80th in 14:01.86. Joshua Osborne was the next Renaissance runner across the line, followed by Elevaun Lapierre, Keith Williams and Bryan Reyes.

On the girls’ side, Chloe Genao led the team with a 77th-place finish. Gabriela Munoz and Valentina Chacon followed.

The meet was part of the MSAA Championship season, and the school’s middle school runners are among those competing. The results give local families a snapshot of how the Tamarac-area team performed against county competition.
