Pompano Beach residents can dispose of household hazardous waste for free this Saturday, Oct. 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The collection takes place at 1660 NE 10th Street and will go on rain or shine.
The city said it partners with neighboring cities to offer 13 free collection events each year for residents. Accepted items include old paint, cleaning products, pesticides, rechargeable batteries and electronics.
Proof of residency is required. Drivers should keep items in the trunk or truck bed and stay in their vehicles while staff unload them.
Residents who want the full list of accepted items and upcoming collection dates can comment “WASTE” on the city’s Instagram post.
