Plantation Mayor Sortal says she supports adopting the city’s Comprehensive Plan with a maximum residential density of 25 units per acre. She announced the position in a letter to residents posted on the City of Plantation’s Instagram account on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Sortal also said she wants residents to have enough time to review the proposed plan. To allow that, she is moving the City Council vote back to Nov. 18 at the earliest.

The Comprehensive Plan guides how land can be used and developed across the city, so the density limit and the vote date matter to anyone following future housing and development decisions in Plantation. The full text of the mayor’s letter is available through a link on the city’s Instagram profile.
