The Parkland Pumpkin Patch is open this month with weekend hours and a few extras that make it a good stop for families. Occasional offerings include a petting zoo, hayride photo ops, food vendors and face painting.
The patch runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, and Sunday, Oct. 18. On weekdays from Oct. 19 through Oct. 22, hours are 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Pumpkins are sold while supplies last.
A free Halloween Festival follows from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Oct. 23. The event includes trunk or treat, stilt walkers and entertainment. Admission and parking are both free.
Everything takes place at the Parkland Equestrian Center, 8350 Ranch Road. Visitors can call 954-757-4107 for more information.
