A Palm Beach County man has sued McDonald’s Corporation, saying he bit into a Chicken McNugget that contained a hidden “foreign object” and swallowed it, injuring his stomach and teeth.

JJ Current filed the complaint in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. According to the filing, he bought the McNugget on Jan. 19 at the McDonald’s at 6858 Okeechobee Blvd. The suit does not identify the object.

The lawsuit accuses the company of negligence and strict liability. It claims McDonald’s failed to inspect its food for foreign objects and sold a product that was adulterated under Florida Statute 500.10, making it unreasonably dangerous and less safe than an ordinary customer would expect.

Current is seeking more than $50,000 in damages for pain and suffering, medical bills, lost income and other losses. He has also requested a jury trial. Lake Worth attorney Ian Bressler filed the case.

McDonald’s had not responded to the suit as of publication. The allegations have not been tested in court.
