Early voting for the November general election begins Monday in Palm Beach, St. Lucie and Indian River counties. In Palm Beach County, the Supervisor of Elections has launched a mobile app called “Vote Palm Beach” to help voters through the process.

The app lets users check their voter registration, find polling locations and hours, and track vote-by-mail ballots from the day they are received at the Supervisor of Elections office. Supervisor Wendy Sartory Link said the goal was to put the tools voters most often need in one place, especially for younger voters who are used to handling tasks on their phones.

Early voting in Palm Beach County runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily, through Sunday, Nov. 1. Voters can cast ballots at any early voting site. Election Day is different. Because of midterm redistricting, voters must go to their assigned precinct location, and Sartory Link said about 640,000 county residents have new polling places.

In St. Lucie County, early voting runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. In Indian River County, polls are open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Both counties end early voting on Oct. 31. Martin County starts Wednesday, and Okeechobee County starts Saturday.

Sartory Link said Palm Beach County’s voters are split roughly evenly between Democrats and Republicans, with about 30% unaffiliated or in minor parties, so turnout will shape local races.
