Make Our Schools Safe, a national nonprofit focused on school safety, will host two fundraising tournaments this fall in Broward County. Proceeds from both events support the group’s work, including MOSS Clubs and school safety investments.

The sixth annual MOSS Golf Classic is set for Friday, Nov. 6, at Colony West Golf Club in Tamarac. A limited number of foursomes remained open as of the source report. The day includes golf, friendly competition, dinner and awards. Non-golfers can buy dinner tickets for the post-tournament celebration.

The ninth annual Ladies Tennis Tournament is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 4, at the Parkland Tennis Center. This year’s theme is “Dynamic Duo,” and partners are encouraged to dress as famous pairs such as Batman and Robin or Thelma and Louise.

Guests who do not play can buy a Lunch, Raffle and Shopping Ticket for the tennis event. Registration is open for both tournaments, along with tickets for the accompanying activities.

The organization was founded by Lori and Ilan Alhadeff after their daughter, Alyssa, was killed in the February 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. The fundraisers are meant to honor her legacy.
