Monarch High School has named Chantal See as its new girls varsity soccer coach, the school’s latest addition to its athletic program. For See, the job is a long-held goal of becoming a high school head coach.

She said she wants players to build confidence, handle adversity and recognize what they can achieve. Beyond winning, See said she hopes to create a supportive culture where players take pride in wearing the Lady Knight uniform.

See began playing at age 6 in AYSO and later played at West Kendall, Hammocks Lightning and Miami Sunset High School. She continued her playing career at Tusculum University in Tennessee before transferring to Santa Monica College in South Carolina.

Her coaching résumé includes Elite Soccer in Miami, where she worked with children from 2½ years old through fifth grade. After moving to Boca Raton, she served as head coach of GPYSA’s U16 and U19 teams. Most recently she coached with Parkland Travel Soccer, leading the 2013 and 2016 Premier Girls teams.

See said she will stress commitment, attitude, effort and consistency. Her approach, in her words: “Commit to the process. Trust your team. Compete every day.”

The Knights finished last season 8-10-1. They open the new season against South Plantation High School on Nov. 12.
