A small railroad at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek offers an inexpensive outing for families in north Broward. Functioning model locomotives carry riders around a pond on the park’s tracks, and kids and adults can both ride.
The trains run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the third full weekend of each month, weather permitting. Tradewinds & Atlantic Railroad operates the trains. Because service depends on the weather, the railroad recommends calling ahead to confirm that the trains are running on the day you plan to visit.
Train rides cost $2. Weekend park entry is $3 per vehicle for up to eight people and $20 per vehicle for nine or more.
