Two Miami businesses are leaning into Halloween this month, one with an off-road thrill and one with a themed bar menu.
Takeover Rentals, at 12790 SW 157th Ave., is offering an hourlong spooky ATV and side-by-side buggy tour. Owner Selmen Selman said riders cruise a property of about 1,000 acres lit with neon lights on the bikes, then finish in a haunted trail maze where props hang from trees and jump out at riders. Selman described it as a way to bring the feel of Halloween Horror Nights to ATVs. Tours can be booked through the company’s website.
In Midtown, The Sylvester at 3456 N. Miami Ave. has partnered with the national pop-up Black Lagoon for a Halloween menu. Six new drinks include riffs on classics such as an espresso martini and a colada cocktail. Names include Moon Shadow and Demon Dance, served in creepy mug designs. Joseph Jebelean, the bar’s representative, said the glassware is also for sale.
The bar’s Halloween party is Saturday, Oct. 31. Guests who come in costume or RSVP will get $1 cocktails from the special menu.
