The Marjory Stoneman Douglas cross country teams competed in the county championship Friday afternoon, Oct. 9, in a meet that drew runners from across the district.
On the boys’ side, Alexander Spadaccini led the Eagles with a 29th-place finish in 18:43.24. Jason Lemelman placed 31st and Kaden Kirkpatrick finished 34th. Aaron Grossman, Nicholas Rosenberg and Mateo Quinn also ran.
Emiliana Anzures was the top MSD girl, taking 19th in 22:22.37. Noa Nierman finished 30th, followed by Antonella Dominguez in 31st, Sophia Zengotita in 32nd and Caroline Schwartz in 34th. Lilliana Ryan and Victoria Mallerman also competed.
In the junior varsity races, Aiden Coon was the top boys finisher in 15th place, with Vince Mandracchia in 38th and Ryan Sohnen in 49th. Rebecca Bridger led the junior varsity girls in 10th, followed by Emily Levine in 11th and Martina Velez and Brianna Alvarez in 17th and 18th.
