Knaus Berry Farm opens its 70th season Tuesday, bringing back its cinnamon rolls and several changes meant to shorten wait times. The farm will serve customers starting at 8 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. The opening is two months earlier than last year’s.

Some shoppers were already waiting overnight. Eiby Mendez, who was first in line, told Local 10 News she got in line at 7:37 p.m. Monday. She said she plans to deliver some of the baked goods to people who cannot make the trip themselves.

The farm is adding a fourth cash register and cashier. Customers in line will be able to browse the menu on their phones through QR codes and additional menu signs. Each customer is limited to four dozen cinnamon rolls, a rule the farm says is meant to keep lines moving. Parking has also been expanded to nearly twice its previous space.

The recipes and longtime staff remain the same, according to the report, and the kitchen team has more than 140 years of combined bakery experience. The season will run 30 weeks, longer than in past years.

The farm is at 16790 SW 177th Ave. in Miami-Dade County.
