The Town of Jupiter has closed its Civic Center and canceled all reservations for November and December, according to a town notice published Nov. 4.

Recent weather, high tides and increased wave activity caused significant beach erosion. The surge also damaged the access walkway and stairs, which the town said is preventing access to the facility.

The notice did not say when the center might reopen. Anyone who had booked the venue for the coming two months will need to watch for further updates from the town about rescheduling or refunds.
