Inter Miami beats D.C. United 4-0 to end five-game winless streak

Inter Miami CF ended a five-game winless streak with a 4-0 rout of D.C. United on Saturday night at Nu Stadium. The Herons returned from the FIFA international break with a clean sweep of goals.

Luis Suárez opened the scoring just two minutes in, finishing a pass from Sergio Reguilón. Suárez doubled the lead in the 35th minute, when Germán Berterame headed a rebound to him and he finished with his left foot. Miami carried a 2-0 advantage into halftime.

The Herons struck early in the second half. Suárez flicked a ball over a defender into the box, and Lionel Messi finished with his first touch to make it 3-0. Messi added the fourth in the 60th minute, when he carried the ball from midfield, weaved into the penalty area and placed a shot in the bottom-right corner.
