Hollywood will host a Hispanic Heritage celebration Saturday, Oct. 10, at ArtsPark at Young Circle. The event runs from 3 to 9 p.m. and includes live music, dancing, food and cultural displays.
The afternoon opens with a Parade of Nations from 3 to 4 p.m., which the city describes as a showcase of the cultures represented in the community.
Puerto Rican salsa singer Melina Almodovar, known as “La Muñeca de la Salsa,” is the headliner. The lineup also includes performers from Cuba, Colombia and Peru, a mariachi group, a Venezuelan drum ensemble and several local dance studios. Students from Hollywood Hills High School, Driftwood Middle School, Apollo Middle School and other city schools will also perform.
The city encourages families to attend and bring dancing shoes. The post did not list ticket prices, so admission details should be confirmed with the city before the event.
