Bridge repair projects are underway at the Johnson Street and Sherman Street bridges in Hollywood. The city says the work is scheduled to run through March 15, 2027.

Residents with questions can contact Heather Guenot, the city’s senior project manager, at (954) 921-3931 or hguenot@hollywoodfl.org.

Separately, Broward County’s Highway and Bridge Maintenance Division is raising the Sheridan Street Bridge over Florida’s Turnpike by two feet. The upgrade will bring the vertical clearance to 16 feet, 6 inches, which county officials say will reduce the risk of future vehicle strikes and structural damage. Broward County hired Structural Technologies to do the work.

Construction will happen in phases and will include temporary lane closures, nightly traffic diversions, pedestrian detours and overnight work along Sheridan Street and the Turnpike. The county says business and residential access will stay open throughout the project.

Drivers who use these corridors should expect delays and check the city’s traffic alerts page for updates on closures and schedules.
