The City of Deerfield Beach has temporarily closed the Deerfield Beach International Fishing Pier overnight, from sunset to sunrise each day. The closure took effect immediately and will continue until further notice, the city said in an Instagram post published Tuesday.

The pier remains open during regular daytime hours. The closure is tied to an outage affecting the pier’s navigational lights, which boaters use after dark.

Overnight access will resume once temporary navigational lighting is installed or the existing lights are repaired or replaced. The city did not give a timeline for those repairs.

The city said safety of residents, visitors and boaters is its top priority and asked for patience while crews restore normal operations. Residents should watch the city’s official channels for updates.
