Coconut Creek High School’s football team beat Charles W. Flanagan High School 34-15 on Friday night, its sixth win of the season against one loss.
Cayden Delious opened the scoring with a rushing touchdown. Everett Butler then intercepted a pass near the end zone and ran it back for a score. Quarterback Josiah Sanchious threw touchdown passes to Jaden Francis and Javion Francois, and Jocelin Francis Jr. added a rushing touchdown.
The Cougars will host the next game on Friday, Oct. 16, at 7 p.m. against Archbishop McCarthy High School. The Mavericks are 3-4 this season, but they entered their most recent game ranked seventh in Florida, according to the report.
For Coconut Creek families, the win keeps the Cougars in position for a strong finish to the regular season, with a home-area crowd likely to follow the matchup against a higher-ranked opponent.
