A U.S. Coast Guard crew based in Miami Beach rescued a brown booby, a large tropical seabird known for its diving skills, officials said.
The bird was seen close to shore, which is unusual for the species. Officials did not say when or where exactly it was first spotted.
After two weeks of rehabilitation at a local wildlife rescue organization, the bird was released back to sea. The Coast Guard assisted with the release.
