A celebrity golf tournament will take over Palm Beach National Golf & Country Club in Greenacres on Monday, Oct. 19, with proceeds going to The Lord’s Place, a Palm Beach County nonprofit that offers housing help, supportive services and job training for people experiencing homelessness.

The event, called Par for the Culture, is organized by Darren Wingate. It will bring together professional athletes, celebrities, influencers and community leaders for a day of golf. Wingate said the goal is to use the reach of sports and entertainment to draw attention to affordable housing and homelessness, and to introduce new audiences to golf.

Miami Dolphins quarterback Malik Willis is the host. The schedule starts with opening remarks at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at 8 a.m. On-course activities, including long-drive and closest-to-the-pin contests and celebrity meet-and-greets, run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A beneficiary presentation on emergency and transitional housing is set for 3:15 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m.

Organizers hope participants will use their platforms to support housing efforts beyond Palm Beach County. Registration, sponsorship details and tournament information are available through the Par for the Culture website.
