The Broward Sheriff’s Office Tamarac Traffic Unit is out in the community this week enforcing school zone safety, according to a post from the City of Tamarac. Deputies are monitoring traffic as students travel to and from school.
The city is asking drivers to slow down, put the phone down, watch for pedestrians and obey posted school zone speed limits. Drivers should also stay alert for children crossing the roadway.
The post thanked Deputy Torres for his work keeping roadways and school zones safe. The city said safety near schools is a shared responsibility among residents, families and school communities.
