Breezy to windy conditions settled over South Florida on Tuesday, bringing milder temperatures and a fall feel. Earlier in the day, a few morning rain bands brushed parts of Miami-Dade and Broward counties, but they produced little accumulation.

A stationary front lies to the south, over Cuba. The boundary crossed Florida over the weekend and pushed out the humidity. Gusty east winds off the Atlantic will continue to be the main nuisance.

Most areas should stay dry through midweek under a high pressure system to the north. Forecasters said small, quick showers could still roll in off the ocean.

The pattern is expected to change by Friday. Forecast models show an upper low forming to the south, which could pull in moisture and bring heavy rain, possibly over the weekend. Winds are also expected to strengthen, producing rougher surf.

Those conditions could combine with the October king tides, which can push seawater into coastal areas during high tide. Coastal flooding could become a serious problem, the forecast said, and residents should stay alert in the coming days.
