Boynton Beach High School is launching the Palm Beach County School District’s only choice Sports Academy, a program aimed at students who want careers in sports beyond playing on the field.

Principal Dr. Moody Fuller said the idea grew out of a look at student interests, which showed a strong passion for sports among Boynton Beach students. The academy offers six pathways: performance, culinary, hospitality and nutrition; e-sports, photography and broadcasting; turf management, which is coming soon; and sports medical science.

The school also plans facility changes. Fuller said new turf is planned for the football field, along with a new weight room and training room. Some upgrades could be in place as soon as Aug. 27. The school expects to break ground on its stadium this spring.

Fuller said the school hopes to have results to show by fall 2027. Boynton Beach High is already accepting students for the academy for that fall.
