Miami-based Slip-N-Slide Records helped curate one of the in-game radio stations in Grand Theft Auto VI, bringing the city’s hip-hop history to the game’s fictional Vice City, according to CBS News Miami.
The station, Dirty South Classics, is hosted by Miami rap veterans Trina and Trick Daddy. Slip-N-Slide founder Ted Lucas helped select the southern hip-hop tracks for the lineup. Lucas said the station celebrates a sound the label helped create over many years.
The label has shaped Miami’s music scene for decades. The station also nods to the Trick & Trina Morning Show, a real radio program that aired across South Florida in 2020.
The game’s radio lineup includes the return of Flash FM, which first appeared in the original Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002. Other artists featured include Morgan Wallen, Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey.
In-game radio has long been a signature feature of the franchise, with stations that mirror the music and culture of the real places behind them.
