Pinecrest Gardens is hosting a busy stretch of November programming, with several long-running series returning through mid-month. Jazz at Pinecrest Gardens opens its 17th season, Orchestra Miami marks 20 years performing in South Florida, and the Todo el Mundo Dice Ahó music festival returns to the Banyan Bowl for its 13th edition.
The schedule starts Tuesday, Nov. 3, with a STEAM Mini Camp for children ages 4 to 9. Campers spend the day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on experiments, nature activities and art projects, with time on the garden grounds, at the Barn and on the playground. The cost is $85 per child, lunch is not included and space is limited.
On Saturday, Nov. 7, at 8 p.m., vocalist Allyson Briggs joins bandleader Dan Gabel and his orchestra for a program of Great American Songbook standards. Orchestra Miami follows on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 6 p.m. with its 20th anniversary concert and the launch of a new Pinecrest Classical series. The evening opens with the Mozart overture the orchestra played at its first concert.
The festival Todo el Mundo Dice Ahó takes the Banyan Bowl stage Saturday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. The Gardens close the stretch Sunday, Nov. 15, at 3 p.m. with a afternoon concert featuring pianist Sakiko and cellist German.
Families who want to plan ahead can look to Thanksgiving week, when a three-day Mini Camp runs Nov. 23 through Nov. 25 for ages 4 to 9. Single days and the full session can be registered for at pinecrestgardens.org.
