Shoppers looking to dress up their Christmas trees can get hands-on help at Christmas Palace in Sunrise. The store’s ribbon expert, Lana Bieloshenko, known to customers as “Lana the Ribbon Whisperer,” shows people how to tie bows at the ribbon counter.

The 26,000-square-foot store is organized by color and trend, according to Creative Director Corey Harbour. This season, he said, home decor leans toward “color drenching,” with red layered over red and paired with velvet, glitter and sequins. He said the store has moved away from keeping its display ideas secret and now wants customers to copy them at home.

Bieloshenko said customers are asking for smaller bows with long tails that run through the tree, rather than a single large bow on top. She said she works with two-and-a-half or three-inch ribbon and one-and-a-half-inch ribbon, looping the fabric with two fingers and fluffing the bow. She prefers mixing textures and sparkle because a single ribbon can look too plain.

Everything displayed in the store is for sale. Bow help is available at the Sawgrass location in Sunrise, Monday through Sunday.
