Andrew Torgashev, a 24-year-old figure skater from Coral Springs, is headed to the Milan Cortina Olympics for the first time. He earned his spot on Team USA on Jan. 10, when he finished second at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
Torgashev trained at the Panthers Figure Skating Club in Coral Springs until he was 16, coached by his parents, former competitive skaters Ilona Melnichenko and Artem Torgashev. He later moved to Colorado and then Irvine, California, to continue his training.
He won a silver medal at the U.S. Championships in 2025 and a bronze at the 2024 Grand Prix de France. He will compete in the men’s short program and the men’s free skate.
