Palm Beach County Fire Rescue is responding to a reported plane crash in Greenacres, near Military Trail and 10th Avenue North. The crash was reported Saturday, Nov. 1, and BocaNewsNow.com said the incident was still developing when it published its report at about 1:18 p.m.
It was not immediately clear whether the aircraft was a small plane or a commercial airliner. Area hospitals were put on alert for a mass casualty incident as of 1:10 p.m., the report said. Palm Beach County later advised hospitals that the event “may” be a plane crash, a notice the outlet said it could not explain.
The news outlet said it had asked Palm Beach County Fire Rescue for details but had not received a response. No information on injuries or the number of people aboard was available in the report.
Residents in Greenacres and nearby communities should avoid the area while crews work the scene. The report said it would be updated as more information became available.
