Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office detectives were still searching Sunday for the gunman in a Friday night shooting outside a McDonald’s in the Westview neighborhood, northwest Miami-Dade County.

Nathan Bentley, 18, died after he was shot near the intersection of Northwest 27th Avenue and 108th Street. Bentley had recently graduated from Hallandale Magnet High School in Broward County, according to the report.

His mother, Nohely Bogert, said she and her son were watching a football game on a field across the street before the shooting. Bogert said Bentley, who was also known as the rapper “G Baby,” was a dedicated older brother to a 15-year-old brother and an 11-month-old sister. “He was the star of the family,” she said, describing him as a role model for his younger siblings.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call the Miami-Dade Stop the Crime line at 305-471-8477. Callers can remain anonymous.
