The Coral Springs Coconut Creek Regional Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation is looking for volunteers and participants for its second annual Race for Education 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Tradewinds Park in Coconut Creek.
The race starts at 7 a.m. at 3600 W. Sample Road. Proceeds will go toward classroom materials, educational resources and other enhancements for students and teachers at local elementary, middle and high schools. The foundation also runs a micro-grant program that funds innovative projects to enhance student learning.
Volunteers can help with tasks ranging from assisting runners to supporting event operations, and they can earn community service hours. Runners and walkers of all ages are invited to take on the 3.1-mile course, whether they are competitive racers, families or recreational walkers.
Registration costs $40 for adults 18 and older and $30 for participants under 18. Online registration stays open until 7:20 a.m. on race day. Interested volunteers and runners can find sign-up forms through the chamber’s Race for Education page.
